Anyhoo -- keeping up with the #throwbackthursday-theme (as my Freaky Friday-theme died before it really started), here's a look to year 2010.
I've always, always loved red hair - my mom had a naturally reddish hair as did one of her sisters. When I was in my teens I dyed my hair pretty much myself with those el chipo -dyes at home, and I think I did have red hair a couple of times. Ditto when I was in my late twenties; I actually cringe severely when I look back at that time: I had the same look with Geri Halliwell, the Ginger Spice had in that Spice Girls era > red hair with blonde streaks around my face. Jesus, it was bad. Also, I moved to England around that time, and one of my British friends always used to tell me (after I had changed my hair color from red to blonde) that in fact my hair had been pink, not red. I never agreed with her but who knows - I don't have many photos from that time left. Thankfully, one might say.
But, alas, in 2010 I wanted to make a drastic change again after having been blonde for so long - and so I went red. Really red. I did sort of enjoy the color, can't lie -- but gosh, it is just such a hassle to keep red color fresh and not have it fade away between salon visits ! Also, when you wash your hair or go to sauna -as we Finns often do- you can just see the color come off each time...and even stain your towels when you dry your hair. Sure, being a bottle blonde is pretty tiresome on occasion too, those damn roots just drive me crazy -- but at least you can just do your roots every six to eight weeks whereas the overall color sticks the whole time.
Still....I often dream of being a redhead again -- but I doubt I'll go that route anymore. Too much work.
